Registration of facilities of business operators dealing with food of animal origin

Qëllimi: Registration is conducted to the facilities of the entities that operate with food of animal origin which, based on the risk assessment of the nature of the food (honey) activity phase, the production capacity and the distribution of the products on the market pose a low risk to public health, specifically primary production facilities (dairy farms, meat farms etc.) i.e. where food is still raw and being finalized must pass through several stages of processing. This procedure is also conducted for the facilities of preparation and sale of retail products, mainly as fresh foods, with short expiry date of use and sale is realized directly to the ultimate consumer (such as butchers, dairy producers selling in markets, honey producers etc.). Registration includes: 1. Facilities of primary production of food of animal origin; 2. Facilities that are used as private residential spaces, where food of animal origin is regularly prepared for market placement; 3. Facilities where activity of the storage of food of animal origin is carried out, for which the conditions of controlled temperatures are not needed; 4. Milk collection points by two or more producers, which supply only one approved dairy processing facility and its products; 5. Facilities for filling and packing honey and other bee products; 6. Business operator engaged in the transportation of food of animal origin, and its means of transport.

Përshkrimi: The Business Operator with Food of animal origin is obliged to submit a request for registration of the respective facility, within 30 days before placing the food on the market, to the Directorate of Public Health according to Annex 1 of Regulation no. 18/2016 on registration and approval of food business operators. According to the request submitted by the Business Operator of Food, the Directorate of Public Health registers the relevant object in the register, then the chief executive issues the decision for registration.
